I published my first blog (I think we called them “web-blogs” back then) in 1993, on an ISP called Intac. Very soon afterwards, I chided myself for ignoring it, setting a standard that would go on for over 30 years.
Why should this be different?
Honestly? It’s not likely to be. Even when I saw this news-site-thing as a profession, I was an infrequent contributor to my own publication. I was never confident enough to fully take the plunge, preferring to dip my toes in a hundred different ponds.
Then—for a while—I was contractually prohibited from performing a side job. And that was fine—I was content with my day gig. But I’m no longer under that constraint, and I occasionally (just occasionally) feel like I still have something to say. The site I ran the longest was called “RandomMaccess.” It was an Apple/Macintosh-centric site, but the random part allowed me to drift to other topics. I intend to embrace that wanderlust fully here, so don’t expect this to be your source for any specific topic. But if thoughts pinball around your brain as they do mine, maybe you’ll find something worth sticking around for.
Who knows? Maybe I will too.
P.S. — If you find the headline as hilarious as I do, we can be friends.
